CAMANO ANIMAL SHELTER ASSOCIATION

Mission:  Uniting animals in need with caring people, forever enriching their lives.

ABOUT CAMANO ANIMAL SHELTER

CASA  is a private, non-profit, managed admission no-kill animal shelter. CASA accepts stray dogs and cats from Camano Island and owner-surrenders from Camano and beyond. Through a contract with Island County, we provide temporary care, boarding and redemption services for impounded/seized dogs from Camano Island. We assist other shelters by transferring in dogs and cats from crowded facilities. CASA makes a lifelong commitment to the animals in our care. Once an animal enters CASA, there is no limit to the amount of time that animal can spend at the facility, and we will always be here to provide counsel after adoption and provide shelter if they ever become displaced again.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP

Volunteer at the shelter: Work hands on at the shelter. Assist the Shelter staff with morning cleaning, dishes, laundry, cat socialization, and dog walking. Additional onsite opportunities include gardening, maintenance, and photography.

Join the friends of CASA: Friends of CASA meet monthly to plan events. Participate in community outreach and fundraising events (Spring Market, Pet Food Drive, Dog Wash) to promote the work of CASA.

Foster: Our dedicated volunteer foster families save lives every time they open their homes and hearts to a homeless animal in need. Fostering is a wonderful opportunity to care for a pet without a long-term adoption commitment. Foster homes are most needed during kitten season. CASA often receives many litters of kittens at a time. These kittens would much prefer waiting in a loving foster home until they are old enough for adoption. CASA provides council, veterinary care, and supplies for all foster animals. Stop by the shelter and pick up a foster application today!

Supply donations: CASA is always accepting donations of cat litter, canned and dry cat food, dog food, bedding, and cleaning supplies such as laundry detergent, bleach, sponges, dish soap, and garbage bags. Your donation of supplies directly impacts the lives of shelter pets in CASA’s care.
