Community Resource Center of Stanwood Camano

The Community Resource Center of Stanwood Camano (The CRC) strives to build a healthier stronger community through positive relationships, education, programs and support services. The CRC envisions an inclusive, thriving and connected community, one in which all members experience enriched and empowered lives. 

The Community Resources Foundation was founded in 1997 as a nonprofit community service organization to take over the management of the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center which was established in 1992. The CRC is the only nationally and county certified Family Resource Center in the Stanwood-Camano community. Our guiding principles are respect, belonging, resiliency, community, and partnership. We put an emphasis on prevention, we focus on the strengths and capabilities of the people we serve, we honor and embrace diversity, and we work in partnership with the community. Additionally, all of our programs and services are provided free of charge.

The Community Resource Center strives not only to be a community gathering place but also a place that helps connect people to resources within the community. We can provide financial help for individuals and families in need of assistance to prevent discontinuation of necessary services, eviction, and other basic needs as well as case management and resource navigation. When individuals have stability and support, they are more engaged in their communities, contribute to local economies, and help create a stronger more resilient society. 

In addition to our own programs, the CRC serves as a location for community initiatives and vital community efforts. The CRC is a member of the steering committee for the Community Coalition of Stanwood Camano, which has 27 different non profit agency partners. The CRC also collaborates with the Stanwood Library to host a seasonal speaker series. By providing space for diverse programs such as Stanwood WIC, Aktion Club, PFLAG Stanwood Camano and others, CRC demonstrates its commitment to serving as a hub where individuals and organizations can access essential services, engage in community building, and promote advocacy, and well-being.
