Puget Sound Public Farms mission is to empower communities with the tools and knowledge to engage with food and agriculture. We do this by designing, building, and maintaining community gardens to serve the needs of our community. Our gardens provide free hands on gardening classes and locally grown produce for all. Our produce is distributed through the help of the Stanwood Camano Food Bank. Since our creation in 2023, we have donated almost 10,000lb of fresh produce. We envision the creation of a network of community gardens and small farms which serve to provide residents of the greater Puget Sound with a close connection to their food from seed to harvest.

We currently operate two gardens, Ovenell Park Public Farm and Wild Goose Community Gardens. Ovenell Park is a historic dairy farm located at the mouth of the Stillaguamish River. We are in the process of restoring the site back into a working farm, wetland, and orchard. We maintain a half acre in ground garden where we practice sustainable, scalable agricultural techniques, an old orchard with over ten varieties of apples, pears, and plums, and a ten acre wetland that we are restoring with the help of the Snohomish Conservation District.

Wild Goose Community Gardens, located next to the Stanwood United Methodist Church, is a collection of raised beds which are rented to community members for a small fee. We teach weekly classes at our three demonstration beds where we provide community members with skills and techniques for successful gardening basics.
